I think in order to "optimize" the benefits of an alternative society, we have to look at it from the perspective of process, not result. I don't think there is an ideal that should be worked towards - political change must be on the individual level (almost entirely so) so that when "i" becomes "we," it can maintain a human relationship of compassion and honesty (this is not to say that the 'human way' is not one of the opposite in moments, those events would be left to a system of public justice). Though, there are a few facets of a society that could be logically worked out: taking account for dunbar's number, lessons learned from the modern state of how justice is enforced/surveilled/tried, and a rights [though i am wary of 'rights'] system based on human necessity - food, water, health, freedom [perhaps a more strict definition of this is needed to avoid abuses by he who decides the exception].
They would be small. Justice would be determined by the most popular modes possible. Members would own the means of production for necessary commodities.
